Curriculum

The iMapAmerica Mapping Curriculum consists of short, step-by-step activity plans.

The activity plans include all the information and supplementary materials necessary to guide students through the Mapping process, so that preparation and practice time will be kept to a minimum.

The format of the iMapAmerica Mapping Curriculum is adaptable and flexible, allowing educators and afterschool providers to choose the activities that work best for their own group in their own setting. In addition to the curriculum itself, educators and afterschool providers will also receive ongoing support from iMapAmerica online, on the phone and in person.

The Mapping Curriculum is connected to national educational standards so it can be directly tied to a teacher’s lesson plan.

iMapAmerica has created MapAmerica.org, a website dedicated to your mapping effort that can be personalized to each initiative. Each student and facilitator will receive a personal username and password with the ability to enter, view and edit resource data that has been mapped by your group. This information will also reside at ilivehere.info, a national website for youth by youth consisting of youth resources and opportunities.
